“Chris is an avid fitness enthusiast who throughout the years has tried all modes of fitness training.  It wasn’t until he found CrossFit, that he was fully convinced that this was the methodology of training which yielded the most measurable, and impressive results. Chris enjoys pushing his body not only to its physical limits, but also to its utmost mental capacity. He challenges himself monthly with local CrossFit competitions as well as adventure races, muay thai, brazilian jiu jitsu and the list goes on. After nursing some nagging injuries Chris placed 22nd in the 2011 Northeast Regional competition (arguably the strongest region in the world), as well as 5th in the 2012 NE CrossFit Games Open.  He has managed to maintain a high level of fitness over the past 4 years reaching the Northeast Regionals 4 years and counting (a feat less than 1% of the CrossFit Population has achieved).  Chris has set his sites on competing at the 2014 CrossFit games.”

  • CrossFit Kids Certified Trainer
  • CrossFit Football Certified Strength & Conditioning Coach
  • Attitude Nation Level 1 Certified

“After years competing and coaching at the New York State level for varsity swimming (100 Fly, 50 Free), Mike decided to get out of the pool, and focus on weight training. Better known to members as “Mikey,” Mike fell in love with Crossfit from the first 3-2-1- Go! As an athlete, Mike’s focus is on strength and speed. In just 19 months, with the help of CFW programming, he has gained 30 pounds of lean muscle and continues to hit PRs on his lifts. He is currently training for the 2012 Regionals. As a Crossfit Coach, Mike has combined his passion for fitness & nutrition with his love for working with kids, starting the first certified Crossfit Kids affiliate in Westchester County. With his adults, Mike focuses on form, flexibility and range of motion, so don’t be surprised when he hands out penalties (Air Squats & Burpies) if your squats aren’t below parallel and your presses aren’t locked out overhead.”

I’ve been playing sports since I was 5 years old. When I was a child “99” was my nickname because I never stopped moving. I continued playing sports in high school and college. I loved the energy and community of being part of a team. As an adult this was something I longed for in a gym. In 2006 I started running. I completed 5 half marathons and a dozen other races. I loved the feeling, “the high” of crossing the finish line. However, something was still missing. Then I heard about CrossFit through a friend. At that time there were no gyms in the area. I tried a few wod’s from the main site here and there and continually checked back to see if an affiliate had opened in the area. The day I saw CFW I couldn’t wait to check it out. I took my first class on a Tuesday afternoon and that was all it took, I was hooked, addicted. It’s been 2 years now, and I still have the CF jitters. I thrive on the element of surprise! CF has not only made me stronger physically but mentally as well. CrossFit really has no limits. I continued CrossFiting 4 days a week for 38 of my 40 week pregnancy. My co-workers and outsiders looked at me strange and even made comments about my fitness routine. However, these comments didn’t stop me from doing what made me feel good. While pregnant I actually wanted to CF more, I was amazed at what I could still do, even with a big belly. I felt great and believe that the challenges faced in CF helped me through my drug free labor and through postpartum recovery. After Max was born I couldn’t wait to get back to the gym. Once I was given the doctors go ahead, I was back to my old ways, this time with baby in tow.

In high school Dante excelled in track, football, and was captain of the wrestling team. He didn’t pursue sports in college and over time found himself that overweight ex athlete. Deciding to get back into shape he tried many traditional methods to lose weight with minimal results. longing for the glory days, and the exhilaration of competition Dante started training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai. One day after a conversation about the frustration of not having the stamina necessary to endure a competitive fight a fellow classmate (Chris Guerrero) suggested he try out his new gym that he opened, and the rest is history. Dante is not only a Lv 1 certified Cross Fit trainer, but a true success story having lost a total of 70lbs.

Scott Stern

“Scott has been an athlete his entire life. As a kid he lived outside playing football, basketball, wiffle ball,
etc. He played football and baseball in high school and continued playing football in college. During his
freshman year of college Scott injured his shoulder and decided to stop playing and work on academics.
After college Scott landed a job as an accountant and a couple of years later acquired his CPA. During
this time he slacked off on the gym and gained close to 40lbs from his college weight of 218lbs. Scott
joined Crossfit Westchester in August 2009 and never looked back, by doing so he also lost all of that
extra weight and feels like he’s in the best shape of his life. Scott received his CF Level 1 in August 2012.”

  • Emergency Medicine Physician

In my 4th year of med school, I was fat, had smoked since I was 15, snored loudly at night and was headed down a dark path.  I tried to run a mile.  Made it about 400 meters, slowly walked back, and almost died on my floor for the next 3 hours.  I had to change.  I kept running and eventually completed a marathon and quit smoking. I saw CrossFit online and started the workouts on my own. After being asked to leave Globo Gym for completing Cindy on, and next to, a Gravitron, I needed a Box.  I called Chris, (he was so friggin excited about CrossFit, I had to give him a shot), and we started out in his basement as there was no box yet.  Fast forward through residency, new box, a couple of kids, an expanded box and he’s still friggin excited.  I thrive to teach what I have learned, and increase my knowledge in order to help the next wave as I have been helped by my coach and CrossFit.  Stop by…lets do this.

“I’ve always led an active lifestyle and was introduced to sports and fitness at a young age. In high school I played Varsity soccer, basketball, and ran cross country track. During college my focus was on academics as I tried to maintain my fitness level in regular gym. I was introduced to CrossFit in 2010. I soon realized the exercises and movements I was preforming in the gym were not functional for everyday living which led to some injuries along the way. I immediately fell in love with Crossfit. The physical and mental challenge Crossfit provides is immeasurable. CrossFit Westchester has helped guide and educate me during my fitness journey.  In February 2013 I became certified hoping to give back what crossfit gave me and guide athletes on their fitness journey.”
