1. When did you start CrossFit and why?
Veronica – September 2017

2. What time of day do you normally come in?
Preferred time of day is 6am for this crew.
3. What is one movement you hate and one you love?
Ron – I have a personal problem with front rack position. It is a total unnatural position of the arm for anything but CrossFit or Olympic lifting. I love rest between sets. I can do that so well.
4. Any big goal(s) set for the next year?
Maria – I would like to get an unassisted pull-up.
5. Tell us one fun fact about you.
Maria – Ron and I hiked 5 weeks from France to Spain and never had a fight!
Rachele – In boxing I made it to the semi finals in the Golden Gloves two times. I also won the Junior Olympics.
Veronica – When I was 18 I walked 800 miles of the Appalachian trail with my dad.
Ron – I did the parochial school thing grades one through eight. Holy Name added a grade every year so I was the oldest in the school for eight years. My mother volunteered as gym teacher for several years once they figured out our physical education was lacking.
6. You were left on a deserted island. What one food and thing (i.e. book, music player, etc…) would you want to be left with?
Veronica – Mac and cheese and a cellphone with unlimited battery and service.
7. How has CrossFit helped you in sports? Life?
Rachele – When I get back into boxing, I will be stronger and more fit. In life, it’s fun, I like the community, and I enjoy being with my family.
8. How have workouts changed for you over the years?
Rachele – My main focus use to be cardio and now it’s more of a mix of strength and cardio. I feel like a well rounded athlete.
Veronica – I used to just box but now with crossfit I feel that I’m getting more of a complete full body workout. I find that working out now truly makes me happy.
Ron – I used to concentrate mostly on strength but now I include aerobics and flexibility to my workouts.
Maria – Up until last year, I never incorporated weights into my training. Most of my workouts revolved around competitive sports.
